Santa Clara City Council Preview: Bond Measure Language; Another Grand Jury Report Discussion

Tomorrow’s Santa Clara City Council meeting has several key agenda items. Here are some:

  • Action on: A. Resolution Adopting an Expenditure Plan for the Proposed Bond Measure B. Waive Second Reading and Adopt an Ordinance Ordering the Submission of a Measure Incurring Bond Indebtedness to the Qualified Voters of the City of Santa Clara C. Resolution Calling for a Municipal Election and Ordering Consolidation with the Santa Clara County Presidential General Election on November 5, 2024 for the Purpose of Submitting to the Voters a Measure to Approve the Issuance of General Obligation Bonds to Finance Municipal Improvements Constituting Public Infrastructure in an Amount of $400,000,000; Requesting Consolidation with the Presidential General Election and Election Services from Santa Clara County; Providing the City Attorney to Prepare an Impartial Analysis; Setting Priorities for Ballot Arguments
  • Discussion, Consideration, and Direction to Staff Regarding Actions to be Taken in Response to the Santa Clara County Civil Grand Jury Report Entitled “Outplayed: Measure J, the City of Santa Clara, and the San Francisco 49ers”
  • Public Hearing: Actions on the Zoning Code Update Related to the Adoption of the Zoning Map, Including: General Plan Amendments to Change the Residential Land Use Designations on Identified Properties to Preserve Residential Capacity, per State Law; A “Cleanup” Ordinance to Amend Title 18 (“Zoning”); and Adoption of the Zoning Map, Consistent with the City’s General Plan Land Use Diagram
  • Action on an Agreement with Oak View Group Global Partnerships, LLC for Naming Rights and Sponsorships for the Santa Clara Convention Center and Related Budget Amendment
