For the first time in about six decades, Santa Clarans will vote on an infrastructure bond measure for city projects in November.
Last night, the City Council vote was unanimous to place it on the ballot.
Councilmember Kevin Park attempted to increase the bond by $4 million to give to the Triton Museum by giving multiple long-winded speeches.
But he failed to get a second for his substitute motion. He was not a happy camper.
For months, City staff proposed a $600 million infrastructure bond that was vague and lacked accountability.
Mayor Lisa Gillmor and Councilmember Kathy Watanabe wrote a Santa Clara News Online op-ed that lowered the amount, created an expenditure plan with specific projects, and led to more accountability.
The Gillmor-Watanabe plan was the one that was adopted last week:
Last night, the Council approved the following ballot language:
The Council also decided that Mayor Gillmor and Councilmember Karen Hardy would sign the ballot argument and recruit other residents to be co-signers.

Park was unhinged last night. He had diarrhea of the mouth for a solid 30 minutes attacking the jury report. He really is an embarrassment.
