Santa Clara’s annual Street Dance will bring live music, food, and vendors to Franklin Street tonight — Friday, August 2.  But it will also cause significant traffic disruptions in the Old Quad neighborhood.

Live entertainment will be provided by Neon Velve – “a high-energy dance band featuring amazing vocals, props, choreography, and high fashion,” according to the City’s press release.

The event, scheduled from 6 to 9:30 p.m., will close down Franklin Street between Jefferson and Monroe streets. 

Road closures and parking restrictions will be in effect starting at 10 a.m. on August 2 and continuing until 6 a.m. on August 3.

Residents and businesses on Madison Street between Benton Street and Homestead Road will experience limited access during the event.

City officials warn that vehicles parked illegally in the event area will be towed at the owner’s expense.

Motorists are advised to avoid the area or plan for significant delays.
