Popular Showtime Returns This Weekend

By Robert Haugh

This weekend, there’s certain to be some villainous activity, mild shenanigans and laughs aplenty as the popular Showtime returns.

This year’s event is dubbed Saga of the Sarsaparilla Saloon. The event, hosted by the Santa Clara Women’s League (SCWL) is a melodrama and fundraiser.

“We are excited about Showtime 2025,” shared Santa Clara Women’s League President Emily Adorable, “and we hope you’ll mark your calendar now with plans to attend and bring your family and friends, too. Our 2025 Showtime committee has been working diligently to ensure this event will be both memorable and entertaining while also benefiting a worthy cause.”

The family-friendly event is suitable for all ages. In addition to the fun-filled main performances and Olio acts by local talent, there’ll be a variety of food available, plus raffles with more than 15 opportunity baskets.

There will also be a cash prize raffle. Tickets for the raffle are available from any SCWL member or at the event.

On Saturday, March 1 the performance begins at 7 p.m. (doors open at 5:30 p.m.) while on Sunday, March 2 there is a 2 p.m. matinee (doors open at 12:30 p.m.). All performances are at the Santa Clara Community Recreation Center at 969 Kiely Blvd.

All proceeds benefit Santa Clara Senior Center programs with a focus on health, wellness, and nutrition.

Tickets are $10 for adults, $5 for kids, and a family package (two adults and two kids) for $25. To purchase tickets, visit the website or you can buy at the door.

Santa Clara Women’s League is a Santa Clara-based nonprofit committed to supporting the enrichment and well-being of older adults within the local community.
