He’s back.
After being convicted of felony perjury for leaking a Grand Jury report to the 49ers and lying about it, convicted felon and former Vice Mayor Anthony Becker wants to be on the Bond Compliance Oversight Committee.
As Santa Clara News Online reported yesterday, numerous Santa Clara residents want to serve on the committee that will oversee the $400 million infrastructure bond approved by voters in November 2024.
Becker will be competing in a random drawing to represent District Six.
It looks like he’ll be competing with some friends for that honor.
Becker political ally Mary Grizzle has also applied.
So has William Schuk, the husband of Carolyn Schuk, a Silicon Valley Voice reporter who secretly helped Becker attack the Grand Jury.
The Committee selection is set for today, Wednesday, May 7 at 5:30 p.m. in the City Council Chambers.
It may be one of the most watched and interesting selections in Mission City history.

Is this a paid position? Becker needs money since losing his councilmember gig!
As I understand it the committee members will be selected by random drawing. And you don’t get any more random than Becker.
Isn’t there a general rule that convicted political felons should not be involved with overseeing $400 million? What a joke. He should simply be disqualified.
