By Robert Haugh

Santa Clara is gearing up for a spectacular Independence Day celebration, inviting families and residents to join in the festivities at Mission College on July 4th, 2025.

The event will take place from 5 to 10 p.m., promising an evening of entertainment, food, and a grand fireworks display.

The celebration will kick off with a flag ceremony at 5:05 p.m., followed by performances from local talents.

The Santa Clara Elite Dance Team will take the stage at 5:35 p.m., followed by the Petrichor Youth Band at 6 p.m.. Headlining the evening’s entertainment will be David Martin’s House Party Band at 7:30 p.m., bringing high-energy music to keep the crowd dancing before the fireworks show.

As the sun sets, the excitement will build up to the grand finale: a stunning fireworks display set to light up the sky at 9:35 p.m.. The show will be visible from Mission College’s Central Plaza and nearby Parking Lot A.

For those looking to indulge in some delicious local food, a variety of food trucks will be available, offering a wide range of cuisines, including Mexican, BBQ, sushi, lobster rolls, and more. Among the food vendors are 3 Hermanos Mexican Grill, Akita Sushi, Cousins Maine Lobster, and The Waffle Roost, ensuring there’s something for everyone to enjoy.

Parking will be available on a first-come, first-served basis in Lots A-C.

Attendees are encouraged to carpool or use public transportation to avoid congestion. Security checkpoints will be set up to ensure safety, and the City reminds residents that alcohol is not permitted at the event. For those attending, bringing reusable water bottles is recommended, with cold water refills available at the Tap Water Express.

As a reminder, personal fireworks are prohibited within city limits, and the Fire and Police Departments are urging residents to avoid using them in light of the ongoing drought conditions.

The event is made possible through the support of Mission College, California’s Great America, Silicon Valley Power, and EdgeCore Digital Infrastructure.
