Patron Latin Rhythms Takes the Stage at Santa Clara’s Central Park Tonight

By Robert Haugh

Santa Clara’s free Concerts in the Park series continues tonight with Patron Latin Rhythms bringing an evening of live Latin music to Central Park.

The concert runs from 6:30 to 8 p.m. on the lawn directly behind the Central Park Library, 909 Kiely Blvd.

Residents are encouraged to bring blankets or lawn chairs for seating. Admission is free.

The summer concert series is presented by the Santa Clara Cultural Commission and offers residents a chance to enjoy live music, dancing and food outdoors.

Several food trucks are scheduled to attend Friday’s event, including:

  • La Burbuja,
  • Oaxaca Tamales Express,
  • The Waffle Roost,
  • Kona Ice, and
  • Churros El Guero

Food and drinks will be available for purchase. Alcohol is not permitted.

Parking may be more difficult than usual because the Central Park Pavilion parking lot is closed.

Available parking includes the Central Park Library lot at 2635 Homestead Road, the Community Recreation Center parking lot at 969 Kiely Blvd. and parking near 2625 Patricia Drive.

City officials are encouraging concertgoers to walk, bike or carpool when possible.

Bands, food vendors and event details are subject to change.
