The 49ers return to Levi’s Stadium today, Thursday, Aug. 13, to host the Tennessee Titans in a preseason clash. 

City officials are warning residents and commuters to expect heavy traffic and road closures throughout the stadium area.

The biggest closure will be Tasman Drive, which will shut down beginning at 9:30 a.m. and remain closed until after the game. Certain highway off-ramps and portions of Great America Parkway will also be closed or restricted to keep traffic moving.

Drivers should expect delays on Highways 101, 237 and 880, as well as Lawrence Expressway, Great America Parkway and San Tomas Expressway.

There will also be no parking on Tasman Drive or designated portions of Lick Mill Boulevard.

For bicyclists and pedestrians, the San Tomas Aquino/Saratoga Creek Trail will close at Agnew Road at 8 a.m. Signs and staff will direct people around the stadium. Ticketed fans will be allowed to use the trail beginning at 2:30 p.m.

Stadium parking lots open at 2:30 p.m., while stadium gates open at 4 p.m. Fans are encouraged to purchase parking passes in advance.

The City is recommending public transportation, including VTA, Amtrak and Caltrain, to avoid the traffic crunch.

Rideshare passengers should check the Levi’s Stadium website for drop-off information. Post-game rideshare pickup will be at Red Lot 7.

Residents and businesses on the north side of Santa Clara should plan for extra travel time. Police will patrol nearby neighborhoods before and during the event.

The City has also made traffic cameras available so residents can check road conditions before heading out.
