Early Sunday morning, an assault injuring two people happened near Santa Clara City Hall.

Crime scene detectives say the attack happened just before 3 a.m.

According to sources, one victim was male and the other was female.

Both were treated by paramedics and taken to a local hospital. The extent of their injuries is not known.

Detectives are still looking for physical evidence in the area and a motive.
