News broke yesterday about a proposed legal settlement to put to rest many of the lawsuits that the 49ers have filed against the City.
The 49ers have offered what former Santa Clara City Attorney Brian Doyle told the San Francisco Chronicle is a “sweetheart deal.” Here’s the key point from the Chronicle story:
“Doyle said he believes settling the lawsuit would be worth millions of dollars to the 49ers. But because the 49ers have refused to allow the city access to key stadium financial data, one of the issues in the suit, the value can only be estimated.”
According to another report for San Jose Spotlight, the team is offering $3.3 million to settle the lawsuits. The site frequently writes pro-49ers stories.
But the $3.3 million number includes $2 million of police costs that’s already owed to the Stadium Authority.
It also includes $650,000 of money that’s already in the Stadium Authority’s discretionary fund.
So the actual number the 49ers are offering to settle major lawsuits that could return millions to the City is only $650,000. Wow.
The team has lowballed the City before with the 49er Five’s approval earlier this year.
The City of Santa Clara was owed approximately $750,000 from the team for golf course parking revenue. But the 49ers refused to pay and sued the City in 2018.
Legal experts thought the City would win $1 million for the parking revenue plus attorneys’ fees. But the 49er Five approved a settlement of $350,000 in February.
According to reliable sources, the parking settlement is likely to be one of the major issues in a coming recall campaign.
Maybe this $650,000 settlement will be another one.

Jed York spent $3 million in November 2020 to elect Becker, Jain, and Park. They were previously 0-6 in Santa Clara elections. Chahal and Hardy have received gifts from the team recently without reporting them.
The 49er Five meet with the team on an almost weekly basis and have voted to help the team win millions of dollars in concessions from the City since December 2020.

Becker is the stupidest POS… In the San Jose Spotlight, he references “the Mayor’s” $27 million deficit even though he voted to approve the labor contracts that increased the deficit from $19M to $27M. It was an unanimous Council vote. What can you expect from him? He has no financial management skills. All you have to do is look at his Form 700. During the nations lowest recorded interest rates for loans, this idiot bought a car at a 19% interest rate / 6 years. It is a matter of fact, the worse off your credit rating, the higher your interest rate. This isn’t because he’s “working class,” this is because he is a financial management idiot. He is in charge of millions of public dollars and has no idea what he is doing except delivering all of the 49er mandates. Just look at the business tax Council vote, he didn’t even understand what he was doing.
Does Santa Clara really want to elect Becker for Mayor if he lies so blatantly and is so bad with money?
Becker wants to put 1 million to promote films. No doubt to hire Abel.
Disturbing trend with the San Jose Spotlight.They wrote a terribly inaccurate story about Hosam Haggag recently.. They wrote terribly biased stories about the 2020 council candidates. Obvious they are pro-49er and attack anyone who isn’t. Has anyone asked about their funding sources?
That story about Hosam needs to be retracted and an apology issued.
Amazing the people quoted in article, Becker and Jain, made such a big stink about CVRA lawsuit and they are obviously the biggest racists of all!
And what is the outcome of the lawsuit when it was all about diversity snd inclusion? Jed York puts a white guy up to run for Mayor. Guess all that polling didn’t go well for Jain or Park!

Focus. Do not be distracted by short term dollar win/loss. Note that the proposal apparently leaves the 49ers as stadium managers, where they could easily start new conflicts after having wiped the slate of their old liabilities. A previous City Council believed they had very valid reasons to fire the 49ers as manager. What has changed now to believe they are the right managers? Who pays accrued legal costs? Why should we trust a manager who fights so hard to hide important financial information? Do the 49ers understand the term fiduciary duty when acting as stadium manager? Did the 49ers ever fix the ADA access issues? Who is liable for any continued violations in that regard? Should we now trust them re things like prevailing wage law? If the 49ers are such experts in stadium management, why did they miss so many expenses when creating the initial financial projections later used to establish stadium rent for decades? Is there a credible plan for capital expenses? Why should we have a stadium manager who has so rarely participated in Stadium Authority meetings in past years? I still have plenty of doubts about things like that.
Note to Dave F. You are 100 percent right!!! I seldom agree with and almost never do with Hossam but IT DOES NOT MATTER. Haggag was unfairly treated. He was slandered by Becker and Jain. It was racist. You are absolutely righr and you deserve praise for speaking so rightly. Challange Haggag on the issues!!! But he lives in the Old Quad. I have been to his house. Becker and Jain are cowards. Why do they meet with the 49ers and maintain a 100 percent voting record for them?? I thought the 5 mllion was an INDEPENDENT EXPENDUTURE. Challange Haugh on the issues. Why do Becker and Jain text 500 times on Haugh and file 12 cpras on hum. I have never and will never file one on Haugh because his emails do not interest me. He says what he says.

The Interim City Manager Rajeev Batra has Biweekly Coordination Meetings with Rahul Chandhok and Larry MacNeil (49er lobbyists). Look at Rajeev Batra’s Public Calendar for the month of June 2022 where he met with them every other week. This Miles Barber “genius” (NOT) thinks he is cutting big deals for the City. Everyone in City Hall talks about how dumb he is and how he has no idea what he is doing. Let us not forget that he thought getting access to the Stadium Authority’s financial records was just seeing them at the stadium and left the City with a $116 MILLION deficit. Hardly the genius, but the 49er Five bozos do not know any better… Batra has become the sixth!
Of course Becker thinks it’s a good deal. He’s Jed’s lackey. He will do anything that’s in the best interest of the 49ers and not the people he’s supposed to represent.

If you are in a lawsuit against somebody, why are you meeting them outside of your lawyer??? If the guy Jain hates is some boso living in Richmond, then why did Jain meet with 9 lawyers of the 49ers 8 times about the guy?? I mean if he is irrelevant why is Jain meeting with the 49ers every month about the guy??
