Santa Clara City Council Preview: First Meeting Since Anthony Becker’s Indictment

Tomorrow will be the first Santa Clara City Council Meeting since Councilman Anthony Becker was indicted on Friday for allegedly leaking a grand jury report to the 49ers and the Silicon Valley Voice.

It will be interesting to see if Becker shows up. He is set to be arraigned today. If found guilty, Becker could serve up to four years in prison.

There will be a study session on the annual cleanup campaign and a discussion on street vendors at Levi’s Stadium.

  1. Time to take back our city, for those who can attend tomorrow’s council meeting please show up and demand Becker to resign. And let the other four 49er soldiers this is our city not “ Yorksville”

  2. Whatever happens with this case against Becker he will be done as far as a future in politics. Thankfully he will never be able to become mayor here even if the Forty Niners still were willing to spend millions to try to make that happen.

    So now the big question is who will step up to accept the faustian bargain of the Forty Niners support? And will it be someone who is presently a city councilperson?

    My bet is that Kevin Park will.

    I think he has found out how much he enjoys wielding the gavel during council meetings.

    I wonder if anybody other councilperson will try to oppose him if he does run.

  3. As much as it pains me to acknowledge the Cancerous 49er FIVE and their collaborative destruction of our beloved Santa Clara, I do not find joy in Tony Becker’s dilemma. It wounds our City deeply. His inclination to break the law, and do EVIL, saddens most Santa Clarans. Most Santa Clarans would rather live our lives without being subjected to Yed Jerk and his San Francisco immoralities. What’s next? Feces, needles, tents, etc. Yes, we have some unfortunates that make Central Park home, BUT Yed Jerk plans to “flip” Santa Clara into San Francisco…. NO WAY!

    Do not forget those WHO backed BECKER, as this stain on Santa Clara is on them TOO!!!!!

    These people are UNWASHED and guilty as Becker….

    Call for his resignation!
    Call during council meeting’s public presentation!
    Tell this man-child to resign!
    He is a disgrace and embarrassment!
