The Silicon Valley Central Chamber of Commerce (formerly known as the Santa Clara Chamber) held a major event in Milpitas – not the Mission City on Sunday.
According to multiple sources, the Diwali Festival and Concert was the brainchild of new Chamber CEO Harbir Bhatia.
The event was also organized late and didn’t have a major sponsor a week ago.
Then the 49ers came in at the last minute as a sponsor and got a good size logo on the advertising.
The team also “sponsored” Bhatia when she ran for City Council in 2020. They spent approximately $1 million on an independent expenditure but it was a losing effort.
A few reports from the event suggest that it was sparsely attended and the expenditures may have exceeded costs for the Chamber.
Of course, the 49ers and their fans were busy with something else that Sunday.

I see that I and the chamber are still the important topic of this blog.
I am responding to this for only in case any genuine readers who wish to read real news accidentally stop by on this site get to see a couple responses of substance and truth…Ravinder and me so far.
To all the other standard commenters…Sam K, Deborah, Beatrice…and any one else that holds me responsible for Silicon Sages actions. I worked for the company, not owned it or on any executive committee. Holding me responsible for the company and Sanjeev’s actions doesn’t hold up!
Deborah, in the past you stated that Santa Clara library foundation didn’t get paid and were unhappy with me. Now you are stating about other orgs. In your continuous attempt to defame me, there continues to be no validity nor proof.
However I am proud that the Santa Clara library foundation nominated me for the 51st Annual JV Volunteer Tiffany Award that I received.
What Silicon sage did or didn’t do isn’t in my control. Who got paid by their bankruptcy only they know. Many of the employees like me also didn’t get paid.
Continuing to claim that I took any money from 49ers by using the fabricated image isn’t proof but just an ongoing effort to create a false narrative. The truth doesn’t change through fake news and fake images.
If you and your followers truly were about the truth. There would be proof, citations and references. This is not the case, of course, because this site is only about promoting paid fake narratives for the purpose of politics by those that fear our success.
I wonder if you and the commenters spent the same amount of time on community betterment, as you on this blog. you could a lot more good for the residents and the city, instead.
I agree with Ravinder! Clearly we are doing good work. So this blog and its comments continue to try to defame me and the chamber. Why?
No facts, no proof, and no truth behind this blog.

She has lots of experience spending other people’s money with no accounting system and cheating community groups out of sponsorship money she promised them from Silicon Sage.

Is there such a lack of news that you’re so focused on one organization and one person? I wonder why that is? Is it a lack of news? Do you actually have reporter credentials? I highly doubt it. If you did you would actually provide sources instead of your meaningless opinions. You would investigate instead of spreading false rumors. The funny thing is, you don’t even know what you’re talking about, nor have you even tried to get the truth. Has Harbir hurt your fragile feelings in some way or is there some other agenda? Honestly I don’t blame you. You’re a puppet of greater powers and we all know that, and so do you. I’ve known you many years and the only thing you’ve done for this community is spread hate and lies, oh and you put on a couple of wrestling exhibitions a decade ago. Harbir and members of our board hav done more for this community than you can ever dream of. Why don’t you talk to some actual board members or Harbir herself if you want to know what’s going on with the Silicon Valley Central Chamber of Commerce. We’re only a phone call away. Sorry, that’s what an actual reporter would do, which we know you’re not. An actual reporter would try and tell an unbiased story with multiple sources cited. So if you want to retaliate against me and the chamber and write more false stuff for calling you out – go for it. I think my reputation speaks for itself. And so does yours. I’ve held my tongue against your lies for a long time but no more. I’m tired of you attacking good people at the chamber who only work hard to give back to this community. Nothing I’ve said here is false – unlike every article you’ve ever written about the chamber. Oh and btw – I was actually at the well attended event. So well attended that nearly every food vendor sold out. So much for that falsehood.
