The Santa Clara City Council today has a special meeting today for interviews and appointments to various commissions.
The first item on the agenda is the selection of a new member for the Bicycle and Pedestrian Advisory Committee (BPAC). The council will interview candidates and then vote on who will serve a partial term ending in June 2025. This appointment will fill a vacancy on the committee, which advises the city council on matters related to biking and walking infrastructure.
Next, the council will interview and appoint two new members to the Board of Library Trustees. These appointees will serve full terms ending in June 2028, overseeing the city’s library system. The council will also create a waiting list of qualified candidates in case a vacancy arises on the board during this period.
Finally, the council will interview and appoint a new member to the Civil Service Commission. This commissioner will serve a full term ending in June 2028, playing a vital role in ensuring fair and equitable hiring practices for city employees.
