Santa Clara Police Seek Public Help in Creek Death Investigation

By Robert Haugh

The Santa Clara Police Department is asking for the public’s help after a man’s body was found face down in San Tomas Aquino Creek on Valentine’s Day.

Officers responded to the creek, south of Tasman Drive, around 2:30 p.m. on February 14 and discovered the body.

The Santa Clara County Medical Examiner identified the deceased as Thomas Simpkins.

Detectives say Simpkins was last seen alive on February 8 at 9:30 p.m. near Pruneridge Avenue and Lawrence Expressway, wearing a black short-sleeve shirt, blue jeans, and red, white, and black basketball shoes.

Investigators believe he walked from that area and was last captured on surveillance near Homestead Road and Los Olivos Drive around 1 a.m. on February 9.

Police are asking residents and businesses in that area to review security footage from that time and report anything relevant.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Detective Sergeant Bell at DBell@santaclaraca.gov. Tips can also be left anonymously at (408) 615-4847.

Editor’s Note: Information about last Tuesday’s City Council meeting will be in a future report.  The meeting was not available on YouTube Tuesday night, and is still not available. The meeting is viewable on the City’s website and the City’s Facebook page.

  1. A total tragedy.

    Help the police

Ps, remember when 49ers claimed Kevin Park was a tireless advocate for mental health programs?

Four month review of records showed Park never advocated for any thing. LIAR

    • Kevin Park is a repulsive narcissist that needs to be banned from ever talking in public. That includes people, boys under 12 and at city council meetings.
