Santa Clara residents can kick off the weekend with live music, dancing and food as the City’s popular Concerts in the Park series returns tonight, Friday, July 10.
The free concert will feature The Megatones from 6:30 to 8 p.m. at Central Park, 909 Kiely Blvd. The performance will take place on the lawn directly behind the Central Park Library.
The Megatones are an award-winning Bay Area cover band known for playing a wide variety of music, including classic rock, funk, R&B, pop and modern country. The group was voted the Bay Area’s Best Cover Band by KFOX 98.5 FM.
The band says its performances feature energetic dance music, vocal harmonies and creative mashups designed to keep audiences moving. The Megatones have performed at festivals, music series, charity events and corporate gatherings throughout the Bay Area.
Concertgoers are encouraged to bring blankets or lawn chairs and enjoy an evening outdoors with family and friends.

Several food trucks will be on hand, including Chick N’ Bros, Saigon Street 2, Luv’s Brownies, The Cookout and Kona Ice. Food and drinks will be available for purchase. Alcohol is not permitted.
The Central Park Pavilion parking lot is currently closed, but parking will be available at the Central Park Library lot and garage, St. Justin School, the Community Recreation Center and along Patricia Drive.
The concert is the first of five performances planned for Santa Clara this summer.
Upcoming performers include Pop Rocks on July 17, Patrón Latin Rhythms on July 24, The Houserockers on July 31 and Aja Vu on Aug. 14.
The Concerts in the Park series is presented by the Santa Clara Cultural Commission.
