The Good —  The Leg Drop Award: Going back to the 2018 campaign and voting rights lawsuit, Santa Clarans have been accused of being racists in our voting. We’re not. Last Tuesday, it came up again. But Councilwomen Debi Davis and Kathy Watanabe, City Attorney Brian Doyle and City Clerk Hosam Haggag pushed back. They told personal stories about their racially mixed families or themselves. Kudos to all.

The Bad —  The Jabroni Award: San Jose Vice Mayor Chappie Jones wants to create an innovation zone along the Santa Clara-San Jose border. But neither he nor his staff could say what that means. Maybe they’re clueless. Maybe they’re hiding something.
