Santa Clara artist Sarabjit Singh Taking Part in Prestigious Hearts in SF Exhibit

By Robert Haugh

Santa Clara artist Sarabjit Singh has completed her 2023 Hearts in SF mini heart, “Heart’s Delight,” which will soon be displayed in San Francisco.

Singh is an award-winning artist and has called Santa Clara her home for 15 years.

Mission City residents likely have seen her work.

Singh painted her art on a utility box on the corner of Scott and Warburton and in 2012.

She painted a 25-foot-long mural at Blackberry Farm’s cafe wall in Cupertino.

She has also been a Santa Clara County resident for over 30 years. She moved to the Mission City to be closer to her family.

Singh’s latest work is a sculpture created for the Hearts in San Francisco project.

Over the years, 131 heart sculptures, created by local Bay Area artists, were placed on display throughout San Francisco for the public to enjoy. After three months, the art works  are auctioned off to support the Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital (ZSFG).

Singh’s work uses bright and bold colors since she believes that colors have the power to heal.

“I feel art is the language of the heart. It can heal the world,” said Singh.

She has pursued art her entire life, teaching in schools, and privately to children and adults.

Her work has been shown in multiple national and international exhibitions including the Kala Sangam Gallery (Bradford, England), Creative Rising (Long Island, NY) and the Sikhlens Film & Art Festival (Los Angeles, CA), as well as festivals in Pakistan, India and several other collections and private exhibits.

Singh’s work has also been on display at the Mission City’s Triton Museum of Art, Cupertino’s Euphrat Museum of Art, SCU’s de Young Museum, San Jose Museum of Art and at many local, state and international events and galleries.
