There’s a major new development in Santa Clara Vice Mayor Anthony Becker’s trial. Two top 49ers executives were added to the witness list during a hearing on Monday.
Becker will go to trial for felony perjury on November 6. He is accused of leaking a 2022 Grand Jury report to the team and lying about it under oath. Jury selection started on Monday.
According to sources following the trial, Al Guido and Larry McNeil will be witnesses at Becker’s felony perjury trial.
Guido is the 49ers President. McNeil is the team’s former CFO and a top executive. But he is not currently listed in the team’s front office roster.
Guido and McNeil join former 49ers executive and top lobbyist Rahul Chandhok on the witness list. Chandhok was given immunity from prosecution by the District Attorney’s office to testify against Becker in March 2023.
At that time, Chandhok also testified that he couldn’t remember if he told Jed York anything.
Chandhok suddenly left the team days after his testimony and took a job with United States Soccer in Chicago.
Some court watchers are speculating that Becker’s defense will focus on Chandhok and the 49ers since his “third party” defense was rejected by Judge Javier Alcala earlier this month.
Becker tried to argue that others leaked the report before he did, but there was no evidence to back up his claim.
It looks like Becker is left with few defense options unless he can prove that Chandhok was wrong or lying about Becker leaking the Grand Jury report. Or the team set him up to take a fall.
This is a developing story.
So the City of San Jose has hired a sport’s “Czar”.
Per the San Jose Mercury today “SAN JOSE TO HIRE SPORTS CZAR TO HELP OVERSEE COORDINATION OF FIFA WORLD CUP AND THE SUPERBOWL”.
Santa Clara is the lead city, in name only, at this point. We have given away all of our bargaining power during closed door council sessions that citizens are not privy to. To this day, Santa Clara citizens are in the dark about contract details and the financial impact, aside from what the talking heads related to the 49ers are bs’ing us with.
This is why the 49ers have now started poisoning politics with races outside the City of Santa Clara. They have made donations to run negative ads in other political races outside of Santa Clara. Unless the DA is able to make a strong statement the 49ers creep in our County politics will grow.
The City of Santa Clara has lost control of the World Cup and Superbowl situation because of the 49er 5 who are leading us to financial ruin, with Suds Jain leading the pack. Suds is also the same person who cost the taxpayers upwards of a million dollars on a special election that all polls showed was doomed to failure from the start.
Remember, these decisions were made with the approval of a certain councilmember who is about to go on trial for multiple felonies and misdemeanors, and with the blessing of the the other 49er 5 squad.
All of the 49er 5 need to be voted out of office. They have poisoned our great city. Make it a point to get to the polls and vote, for the sake of our city, please.

So Jain wants no investigation of another city running the Santa Clara stadium, but he wants Vartan investigated???

Thanks, we have had our differences on small things, but the big things like protecting our city we agree.
So simple question..Let’s say one day you are sitting at home. Life is going no where, no friends, no hobbies, basically nothing positive is going on in your life. It’s so bad you don’t even want to get out of bed in the morning. In short, your life has bottomed out.
Then…the 49ers come knocking on your door.
Oh Joy…. the 49ers!!!
You get all excited, I mean the 49ers are calling you!!! You then embark on a path that will forever change your life going forward in our City.
I have learned to forgive many things, but selling out your Neighbors is a tough one for sure.
Yes I might need therapy, but what I really need is a Santa Clara City Council vote of at least a 4-3, a vote that favors our City and its Residents more often than not.
Sounds fair to me. Maybe not to the 49ers, but then again, all they have wanted from us is everything, including the scraps on the floor.
Finally, I also need, is my City Manager and City Attorney to help keep us on track for success, and not enable the “Visually Impaired” 49er Council Members from driving our City off the preverbal Cliff.

I may be missing something obvious but I don’t assume if I can help it.
Are they being called by the prosecution or the defense?
I could picture either because I know very little about the trial details.

There’s only one witness list for both the prosecution and defense. According to my source, Guido and McNeil will be called by the defense.
