Santa Clara Councilmember Kevin Park has a troubling history of anti-law behavior — from repeated domestic disturbance calls to defending a convicted felon. Park even attacked District Attorney Jeff Rosen for prosecuting former Councilmember Anthony Becker.
As Santa Clara News Online has reported, Park’s home has been the site of at least three domestic disturbance calls since 2017.
In 2021, Santa Clara resident Debbie Algieri obtained an unredacted police report from one of the incidents. Then she was told by Assistant Police Chief Wahid Kazem to destroy it.
The next day, Park appeared alongside Kazem at a community award event. That fueled speculation about a coverup.
In July 2025, SCNO reported on a June 11 disturbance call, the latest in the series. Santa Clara Police eventually closed the investigation with no arrests, no explanation, raising more questions about a possible coverup.
Park Defends Becker, Attacks DA Rosen
At Anthony Becker’s sentencing on April 4, 2025, Park and fellow Councilmember Suds Jain successfully urged the judge to impose no jail time on Becker.
Park called Becker a victim — despite clear evidence that Becker leaked a confidential Grand Jury report to the 49ers, lied about it, and falsely accused others.
In July 2023, during a debate over creating an Ethics Commission, Park called for DA Rosen to resign. Rosen’s office had indicted Becker for perjury and misuse of confidential documents.
Many saw Park’s attack on Rosen as political retaliation — a move to protect his friend Becker.
The Grand Jury Warning About Park
A 2022 Civil Grand Jury report titled “Unsportsmanlike Conduct” concluded that Park and other members of the “49er Five” routinely put the 49ers’ interests ahead of Santa Clarans.
The Grand Jury recommended creating an independent Ethics Commission among its recommendations. Park voted to kill the ethics proposal — and attacked the grand jury instead.
In another Grand Jury report, “Irreconcilable Differences,” Park’s conduct was described during council meetings as disrespectful and disruptive — citing examples such as eye-rolling, dismissive gestures, sarcastic comments, audible sighs, and frequent interruptions. The report noted that such behavior contributed to a toxic and unproductive council environment.
Park was re-elected in 2024 and will not face Santa Clara voters again because of term limits. Therefore, he will not have to account for his actions at the ballot box.

“Becker illegally discloses a document (a draft Grand Jury report) to the 49ers, and the City does not order the 49ers to destroy it.” – Brian Doyle
The more Doyle opines, the more residents and businesses are glad he’s no longer employed by the City. As everyone else likely knows, the City of Santa Clara couldn’t have ordered the 49ers executive staff to destroy and Civil Grand Jury Report. The only entity that might have that authority is the Superior Court. By the time the public or City staff learned of the reports leak, it was already published by the media and the Santa Clara Police Officers’ Association.
Ou brother! Sure blame Brian. The guy you helped fire. Right, Josh Stephens? But what you forget is Rahul chandok was complicit in Becker’s nefarious behavior. Why didn’t chandok just turn over the illegally received GJ report? Wouldn’t that have been the right thing to do? Don’t attack Brian. Look at the puppet master you work for.
And let’s not forget the immunity Chandok got before he would squeal like the pigs he and the 49er 5 are.
Josh Stephens needs to be called out for the bully he is. He is no better than Park. He has used vulnerable city staff (and you know who you are) to work with park and the other 49er 5 to attack the mayor and other council that go against the grain Including Doyle and Santana. Time to call people out and expose them for the traitors they are. Hopefully Robert’s surveys will bring about that chance!!
Josh – It’s way to late to throw Brian Doyle under the bus – Becker was convicted by a jury. He is guilty of his sins and will never be anything in SC again. Probably best to stop defending him. You really should focus on saving Park from himself.
XOXO – Ted
Santa Clara… better days are ahead. How soon will depend 100% on how much we want to make that change.
It all starts with saying hello to your neighbor. Well I guess that’s the case unless you live next door to Kevin Park.
I’m tired of all this BS.
Who would have guessed that the City with the largest company in the World (NVIDIA) would end up being a just another company town for a NFL Franchise.
We can make a change, but it’s got to be us to do it.
Register to vote, then vote what is best for you…not anyone else.

How ironic: the City orders the recipient of a police report that it says shouldn’t have been disclosed to destroy it, but Becker illegally discloses a document (a draft Grand Jury report) to the 49ers, and the City does not order the 49ers to destroy it. Instead, Park defends Becker’s criminal behavior in court.
It’s deplorable that reports keep getting swept under the carpet. It’s a known fact Caserta was protected by SCUSD and SCPD. Now Park is protected by City Hall and SCPD? Should we start demanding the “Epstein Files” be released? Who is protecting Park and at what cost?
Five active FPPC cases on Park. 2016 and 2024 FPPC found Park is a willful violator. Park has history of opposing ethics commissions and also was an early sidekick of Hazel Opposed to stadiums, but received free tickets.
And we keep electing people like Park, Jain, Becker and their predecessors.
What’s wrong with us as citizens and voters?
We often hear that more people should turn out and vote and some even propose making it mandatory to vote. That is absurd.
Our problem is too many uninformed voters. That is what 49er money buys, ways to spread their lies about their candidates and the opposition. Is the answer social media? Some way to counter the flashy mailers and tv ads targeted by neighborhood.
