Santa Clara News Online Adding Surveys, Reader Voices, and More Investigations

By Robert Haugh

Changes are coming to the Santa Clara News Online website.

SCNO will soon launch reader surveys to find out what Santa Clarans really think about their city. It’s a chance to speak up – and be heard.

SCNO will also start printing more comments and opinion pieces. They can be long or short. If you’ve got something to say, this is your chance.

I’m also working on several longer investigations. They take time. But SCNO readers know the value of real reporting. SCNO helped expose corruption and bad behavior when others looked the other way.

Sadly, too much of the local media ignores Santa Clara—or doesn’t understand the Mission City. Some are tied too closely to the 49ers, through advertising or other deals.

That’s why the work of SCNO matters to me and other Santa Clara residents. And why I keep doing it.

  1. We can just get an agreement that the fundamental identity and character of Santa Clara has been under attack by Suds Jain and Kevin Park since 2020. The influence of Haugh and Vartan has been strengthened not by Lisa but by the attacks on Haugh and Vartan as well as Field. If Burt was reappointed, if Park had not sought to humiliate Vartan, and if Becker had not leaked the grand jury report, these three would be powerful.

There are matters of disagreement between Kirk and myself, but I defend the guy’s right to be respected for the reason it is the right thing to do.

For 35 years, LG has worked to make Santa clara special.

If Jain and Becker and Park would have played fair, they would be respected. But these three schmooze have earned their reputation as boring adult children

  2. Yes! Good news. Folks are tired of the propaganda by Santa Clara Now and the fake surveys by the 49ers like the one about a week ago.

The voice of the people has been tainted by the fake news of Santa Clara Now, the Santa Clara Weekly, SJSpotlight and Mercury News. Let’s hear from the residents!
