UPDATE: Santa Clara City Councilmember Kevin Park Violated a Divorce Court Order

By Robert Haugh

Santa Clara City Councilmember Kevin Park violated a divorce-related court order last month, according to the information Santa Clara News Online received from a Public Records Act request.

SCNO broke the story last week of the Santa Clara Police Department’s investigation of Park.

According to knowledgeable sources, Park took his daughter out of state to a conference on or around November 11, 2025.  That’s an obvious violation of a standard court order during divorce proceedings.

This is not the first time Park has come under scrutiny for his daughter’s care.

Last year, multiple City Hall employees complained about Park bringing his daughter and another child to City Hall.

According to them, Park frequently leaves the children unattended when he goes to meetings. The children are approximately 7 to 8 years old.

Park even left his daughter at City Hall when he ran errands outside of the building, according to sources.

On at least one occasion, Park had to be called to return to City Hall because he had not returned by closing time.

This is a developing story.

  1. So is there a custody order? Did the child’s mother know her child was being taken out of state? What about the child’s school? And Park did this on City business? Who’s paying for the child’s travel? Are out of state police involved? Park has a lot to answer to.

Custody order: If you have a custody order, you must follow its provisions regarding travel. Many orders require written permission, advance notice, or include specific restrictions on travel distance or destination.

No custody order: If there is no custody order, both parents generally have equal rights. However, taking a child out of state without the other parent’s consent can still lead to legal complications and be challenged in court as being against the child’s best interests.

  2. How was he re-elected? Good fair question. Wasn’t he running against a former City Council member who had an excellent track record for leading our City.

From what I read, if our City just included his own neighborhood at most he would have gotten only 1 vote.
So running our City??? He can’t even manage his own house!
By the way, no humor is intended here. No one wants to hear anyone is dealing with some of the issues he is currently dealing with.
But do understand…. somehow he got re-elected!!

Understand who is for you, and who is not for you when it comes to matters involving our City. Tip, just read the fine print at the bottom of the flyers.
