The Santa Clara Stadium Authority met last night to discuss the Proposed FY 2026/27 Stadium Authority Operating Budget.
They also reviewed the Stadium Debt Service, Capital Budget, Public Safety Budget, and 2026 Levi’s Stadium Events Marketing Plan.
They will make a final decision at a March meeting.
An interesting item has returned in this year’s budget. It looks like the 49ers want public funds to pay for their new offices – again.
They tried this move last year to get the public to pay for space for approximately 160 of the team’s employees when they moved out of Levi’s Stadium.
Last year, it was for “only” $650,000 in public funds. This year’s proposal is for $1.7 million. Wow.

Last year, Ethicist Dr. Tom Shanks wrote an oped for Santa Clara News Online questioning the expenditure. Here’s part of what he wrote:
This decision carries significant implications for public trust. Residents should rightfully question whether their Council will prioritize the community’s interests over special, private, or personal agendas.
It looks like this may be an annual test of public trust.

[…] Feb. 24 meeting is when the public first learned the 49ers are again seeking public money for their new offices. This year, it’s $1.7 million, up from last year’s unsuccessful push for […]
Did the majority learn anything after they didn’t listen to the public about 4th of July? Let’s see.
Any council member who doesn’t completely reject this idea out of hand should be disqualified from running for mayor. City staff should be reprimanded for including it in the budget preview.
Two words – Fu(k NO!!
I notice Anthony Becker was there. BECKER is Santa Clara’s Open Sore of Perjuring Pus, got time off from the day old bread factory and lied again.
I am reminded of a famous saying, that has been used by many individuals and organizations over the years: No.
What a great test of wills this will be for the 49er 5.
The 49ers is a private business. They can rent office space like any other business.
A lot has happened to me over the past month. A very serious case of pneumonia caught me in a bad situation coupled with a couple of bad leg wounds. I was hospitalized and recovering for two months.
I have had time to reflect.
Though Mr..Haugh and I have not seen eye to eye over the years, I am awarding him a leg drop of my own. He gets some praise deservedly so. I still feel some unsolved issues regarding my nephew have to dealt with. However, the saga of the 49ers endless butchery of Santa Clara funds has been well covered by Mr. Haugh.
Pat Florida, who was savagely abused by friends of Mr Jain and Mr Park, said that the 49ers ruined the sense of Mayberry that the Mission City had.
Kathy Watanabe was also quite abused by these people. I have come full circle over the years as I feel the soccer parents were lied to as was Lisa Gillmor. Earlier this month while going through treatment, I listened to Anthony Becker falsely accuse Mr Haugh and Lisa Gillmor of unethical crimes. Becker is a convicted perjurer still held in high esteem by a coward like Suds Jain.
Lisa is an aggressive political leader. I have known that for decades. BUT Lisa and her dad have never LIED. They play a strong political chess game, a former competitive player like me appreciated their form if play, but the Gillmors are honest players and ethical.
Park, Becker and Jain are sick Macbethian witches committed to spreading toxic witches brew over this beautiful city with citizens who are wonderful and caring. How I miss them all.
Save your city. Support Gillmor, Kertes and Cox.
Oh. If ICE could stop illegally raiding cities and focus on deporting the most illegal aliens of America
Becker
York
Jain
Park
No! Bringing the 49ers here was THE WORST decision ever made by Santa Claran’s. Pay your own damn bills
Let me be clear. HELL NO
