Santa Clara City Councilmember Kevin Park has once again failed to pay his property taxes.
Park was delinquent on the taxes due in December 2024, continuing a pattern of late payments.
An October 2024 Santa Clara News Online investigative report, revealed that Park had not paid his property taxes in 2024.
Park was re-elected in November and touted his financial management skills during his campaign.
Park has incurred late fees for his last two property tax payments going back to 2023. Park was also late paying his 2018 property taxes.
In 2020, when he first ran successfully for City Council, publicly available records show no trace of any property tax payments from Park.
Park may have had financial issues around 2020.
In 2021, Park’s political consultant Jay Reed sent him an email stating, “I didn’t have much luck getting the 49ers to help fund efforts to help you.”
In 2020, the 49ers spent approximately $1 million on an independent expenditure that helped boost Park’s City Council campaign. In 2024, the team spent approximately $600,000 to help Park.
Park is not currently at risk of losing his home. Under county regulations, homeowners must be delinquent on taxes for five years before the County will take foreclosure action.
Numerous people who have worked with Park say he has had a spotty professional career and frequently changes jobs.
Park also has a reputation for attending charitable events without paying.
In May, SCNO reported that Park showed up at the Librarypalooza fundraiser with two guests without purchasing tickets.
After SCNO reached out to City Hall, Park did pay, but his contribution fell short of covering the full amount due.
In response, some community leaders started a fundraising effort to reimburse the Library and other charities that Park hasn’t paid.

WHY in the bloody hell did Park get voted back on City council? He brings his kid to City for other people to care for his kid and he doesn’t pay his Property Taxes. This person should NOT be on our City Council.
Hmm, CSC, did you ever consider that perhaps we’d like our reps to actually be responsible? Park doesn’t pay his property taxes. The taxes that fund our schools and other aspects of our government. In my opinion this is not being a responsible leader. You are correct that he win the election. Probably more on name recognition than anything else. I rate him only slightly above Becker and that’s because he has not been charged and convicted of a crime.
Most of what’s written in the comments is pure conjecture by people dissatisfied with their own lives. More than half the residents in District 4 determined Park was the best candidate to represent them, that’s what’s important.

So all of boy genius jobs are listed on his Form 700? Right? Nope! His only visible means of support aside from his $2k monthly council stipend is thanks to his hard-working wife.
You remember the one who filed DV complaints against her loving husband, Kevin Park? This woman holds several jobs while Kevin goes galavanting around the County, Country and World eating free food and going on junkets on the City’s and Korean governments dime. Yes, that’s the same Kevin Park who is dodging his property taxes.
And don’t forget to see how his final campaign Form 460 will be filed and is now overdue according to City website (so are 2 other candidates for District 1). Kevin had a ton of cash…. How did he squander it?

Park brags to people he has no job so he can focus on being on city council. This genius who thinks he’s the smartest kid in the room -like Suds – doesn’t know that everyone is on to him. His only legacy will be how he abused power and could only get elected with the backing of an oligarch.
