Santa Clara City Councilmember Kevin Park filed his official Statement of Economic Interests recently.
Park reports no income and no assets for 2024.
In past years, Park reported income from some previous employers. He also reported income from his wife’s work in a dental office.
Park currently receives approximately $1,700 after taxes per month for his service on the City Council.
But for 2024, Park only reports receiving a gift of $1,420 from the Overseas Korean Foundation, Ministry of Foreign Affairs for a trip in August 2024.
Park was obligated to file his Form 700 when he was sworn into office in December 2024 after being re-elected.
But Park was late by almost 60 days and filed on February 5, 2025.
Santa Clara News Online (SCNO) reported that Park has not paid his property taxes. As of yesterday, February 24, Park was still delinquent and owes late fees.
Park was delinquent on the taxes due in December 2024, continuing a pattern of late payments.
An October 2024 Santa Clara News Online investigative report, revealed that Park had not paid his property taxes in 2024.
Park was re-elected in November and touted his financial management skills during his campaign.
Park has incurred late fees for his last two property tax payments going back to 2023. Park was also late paying his 2018 property taxes.
Park also has a reputation for attending charitable events without paying.
In May, SCNO reported that Park showed up at the Librarypalooza fundraiser with two guests without purchasing tickets.
After SCNO reached out to City Hall, Park did pay, but his contribution fell short of covering the full amount due.
In response, some community leaders started a fundraising effort to reimburse the Library and other charities that Park hasn’t paid.

Park has a food trough at his disposal at city hall. City budget has increased to provide more bags of potato chips as they seem to disappear on weekends when they mysteriously disappear. Park is known to be a guaranteed attendee at events when free food is available. He is truly an embarrassment and stain on the legacy of the City. If someone wants to do some interesting investigating, do a PRA on his travel expenses since 2020. This clown has wasted so much taxpayer money. Voters would be ashamed of the idiot they elected.
Park frequently lectures people with real job experiences. He has none.

The problem with elections, IMHO, isn’t not enough voters turn out. It is that the ones that vote are often woefully misinformed. We don’t need more voters, we need more voters that are informed.
Off topic, once our mayor terms out, and campaign laws being what they are, who will be on Jed York’s short list of his pick for mayor, and who would stand a good chance of defeating York’s pick? It’s going to get so ugly the closer it comes, and they will be pouring millions and millions into buying the election. I sure hope some strong contenders and leaders emerge to literally save the heart of Santa Clara.

With Kev’s glowing financial savvy and acumen, I feel really super excited that he and the other 4 signed away our cities financial life, with the full blessing and recommendation by our esteemed city attorney and city manager, re the superbowl and fifa.
Emails between Mike Honda, Jay Reed, Richard Konda, respectively and Park exist prromising Park money.

No surprise he doesn’t pay his bills. He used to borrow money and never paid back. He’s also a sucky worker. Unreliable. Rude. Covers up and lies about his mistakes. Productivity got way better after he was canned or left.
Many people will read this and conclude that Park is pathetic. He is. But there’s a more serious issue here.
Park is clearly a financially desperate person. And that type of person who is in elective office is vulnerable to all sorts of bad things including extortion and bribery. And there’s a major sports franchise here that frequently breaks laws. That is a recipe for disaster.
Park’s already accepted PAC monies from that major sports franchise. He’s corrupt as the day is long. But no one paid attention and now Santa Clara is stuck with him for 4 more years unless he does something egregious like Becker.
